Spotlights
We interviewed a few reputable adoption agencies mid year 2004 and made a selection at the end of the year to work with Internation Family Services as our agency and choose Nancy Bortman at Child and Parent as our case worker. We met with IFS and our caseworker January 26, 2005 to begin the process. We patiently waited almost 4 years to receive our baby referral on December 31, 2008. We received the translated medical records shortly following that on January 5, 2009. I met with our pediatrician to review the medical records on January 9th. On January 12th we signed the acceptance letter and sent the documents to China. When China receives this information they will provide us with a "Travel Approval" which will give us the right to travel to China to pick her up - until then no travel plans are to be made. The agency has estimated that we could be traveling as soon as February 12, 2009. Travel time is usually around 12-14 days. We are considering staying extra time to sight see and learn about the culture.Comments
